Resumen : Books and doors are the same thing. You open them, and you go through into another world”. – Jeanette Winterson. Reading is considered one of the most essential process in the development of humans begins due to the complexity of the process and the skills related that can be developed while practicing reading such as: memory, comprehension, increasing vocabulary, phonology, pronunciation, imagination and among others; it is also considered an excellent tool while learning a foreign language because it introduces the language in an enjoyable way. Because of those facts, this bibliographic investigation centers on the importance of including reading in the learning English as a foreign language process for five year old children. In chapter I, the Statement of the Problem presents the problematic situation, which is the lack of a systematic and specific way of using reading as one of the fundamental processes and objectives to achieve in the current methods or methodologies programs used for five year old children in private preschools in San Salvador, El Salvador. It also contains the way the investigation is going to be followed and the main objectives attempted to achieve along the bibliographic research
